La finca
La finca está ubicado en el corazón de Puerto Rico, en el barrio Mameyes de Jayuya. Entre bosque y siembras de plátano, café y variedades de frutos, Camp Tabonuco cuenta con un comedor, domo de actividades, cabañas de madera para pernoctar, cocina, baños de composta y duchas al aire libre. Estas facilidades funcionan "off-grid", abasteciéndose de agua de manantial y electricidad por medio de paneles solares.
Participantes se hospedan en nuestras cabañas rústicas Múcaro y Guaraguao, en camas-litera o en el mezzanine. Se comparten las comidas en el área de taller y comedor, llamado El Aguacate, que también alberga la cocina y el horno de barro. Detrás están las duchas que se alimentan de agua de manantial. Toda la energía en Tabonuco es solar, y cuando cae la noche se enciende la fogata bajo las estrellas, frente al Domo Geodésico. Desde Tabonuco se aprecia una increíble vista al norte, un horizonte mágico de mogotes y el océano Atlántico.
The farm is located in the heart of Puerto Rico, in Mameyes - Jayuya. Camp Tabonuco operates among forests, fields of coffee, plantain and other fruit trees, with rustic infrastructure that includes a dinning hall, rustic wood cabins, activity dome, kitchen, composting toilets and outdoor showers. These facilities run off-grid with spring water and solar panels for electricity.
Participants sleep in the cabins, Múcaro and Guaraguao, in bunk-beds or the mezzanine. Meals are shared in the dining hall and workshop called the Aguacate, where the kitchen and cob oven are also located. Behind are the outdoor showers that feed off of spring water. All the energy at Camp Tabonuco is solar, and when the night falls the fire is lit under the stars, by our geodesic dome. From Tabonuco you can appreciate an incredible view to the north, a magical horizon of limestone mountains and the Atlantic Ocean.
